Mainly, what my team and I will be doing in Swaziland is living Jesus and do whatever the Spirit leads us to, but our ministry that we will focus on is with Pastor Gift’s ministries he has started out here in Nsoko.

My main ministry (or my baby) is: CARE POINTS! Care Points are where the children of Swazi basically survive. They place where kids get food every day and hang out at, mainly because they have nothing else to do. The Care Points are managed by “Gogos” which is siSwati for “grandmother” and you call every elderly woman, Gogo.  The Gogos start the Care Points and AIM, and as well as churches, comes in to support and sponsor the Care Points. Sponsoring is crucial because that is how the Gogos get money for the food that they use to feed the future of Swaziland. There are 23 care points that Adventures In Missions runs in Swazi and I will be working with 8 of them in the surrounding area of Nsoko. I’m not sure yet what I’ll be doing exactly with the Care Points besides running some sort of VBS/Sunday School looking thing for the children, and making sure the Gogos are always doing fine, but there is so much more potential of God to move at these Care Points then what I just listed. It’s like a blank canvas and I have the opportunity to paint a picture of life for these children.  So give me some cool ideas, if you think of any, of what I can do with the children…

Other ministries that I will be doing is, helping out with whatever my teammates need with their focused ministries, playing and ministering with the pro soccer team Pastor Gift coaches (which I think is completely awesome), helping Jon run a youth group, preaching on Sundays at church, helping with whatever mission groups come through Nsoko, and doing house visits, which one can look completely different as the last so who knows what that’ll look like.

Please pray for perseverance and spiritual endurance with my team and me. It is easy to get burnt out with things like this and going hard at ministry the whole day. And pray for humility within us and for God to uncover himself and his Son to the people here and more and more to my team.

  2. Ideas:

start a carepoint soccer team and coaching for the kids. Help them to build a field so that it can be permanent and as other AIM ppl come and go they can coach and continue. Fundraise to get them all jerseys. OR build a sand volley ball court and have a volley ball team

    more to come!
